The New York Times claimed in the article above that if two strangers ask each other these questions, they will fall in love with each other.

The reason why these questions sound like they would work is that they are great conversation starters. I kept using them for interview trainings at school to see if I could tease funny answers out of students.

Here goes:

  1. Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?

I have thought about this long and hard — if you get to meet a famous person this way, and the famous person doesn’t know you beforehand, the dinner would be awkward because it won’t be a conversation — it would become a Q&A session and you will run out of questions to ask quickly. I would pick someone whom I admire and know me. I would pick my secondary school principal who passed away 3 years ago and ask him how he planned for stuff in the long term.

2. Would you like to be famous? In what way?

I would like the best of both worlds — I want to be extremely rich while I am alive, in secret; then when I pass away, I want everyone to realize how great a person I have been. I want the riches from the fame, but not to deal with fame at…
